Where to Start

Don't click here-something's messed

Ok, this is where you'll find out kind of where to start. When I say that, I mean, other good sites that offer way more information, what you need to research, some books maybe that might be helpful. My site is still expanding, therefore, I cannot offer so much information, but that will change soon enough.

Research
Ok, first you need to know what you need to research. To become a true Wiccan, you have to have quite a bit of information, and experience, but that's later. So first, just check out some sites that you found on your own, some books maybe, and then if your sure you want to be serious, you can continue. The thing is, you always have to be sure you want to do this, if you want to become serious. It's a life-long thing. It will create new relationships and maybe make you change your mind about certain things. Ok, so you've read one or two books, and found a couple sites. If your sure you want to go on, then you can start the "school-like" research. Some people at this point (if they have the time and option, even) would start intense research, I mean like thinking of only this, and working hard. That's a whole period with a name unknown to me right now, but the period is about one year and one day. In that period, you should research these topics:
  1. The basic history of Witchcraft and its cultural origins.
  2. Some of the different Traditions and Ways that Witchcraft is practiced today.
  3. The basic ethical guidelines, such as the Rede or Law of Three.
  4. A basic overview of karma and reincarnation (or transmigration).
  5. An understanding on how Magick works.
  6. Deity Names and Aspects.
  7. The Elements and correspondences.
  8. Basic Tools of the Craft and their use in ritual work.
  9. Some divination, visualization and meditation techniques.
  10. Folklore and Mythology.

It might be a good idea for you to try to use a book of shadows. Now this is kind of like a journal/spell book, or anything you may want to put in. In future, it will prove useful.

If you decide to become a covener (a person belonging to a Pagan, Wiccan,or any other Goddess/Earth Religion club), then you can start looking for some experienced Pagans. Ask some questions that have been bothering you, about events and such. Meet some people and make friends. But keep researching.

Now, at this point, you may be tempted to try some circles, get some experience. Many more experienced Pagans believe it's better to do it with more people at first, just the first few circles to get you used to the energy. Things can go wrong and even become dangerous if you don't know what your doing. Why? Because when you do circles, your calling on spirits to help you with, well, really, that's mostly when you do spells, but in circles, things can still go wrong.

Here are some links that might prove useful to you:

The Witch's Voice: A good way to communicate with the pagan world and learn more.

TeenWitch: This site is like mine and the Witch's Voice, but it's a bit more for teens who are starting out.

The Celtic Connection: This has online supplies and more information (of course).

SpiritOnline This site is like mine, a starter-upper. It'll basically tell you what I have but way more explicitly and it has way more information.

Kalika's Book of Shadows: This site is VERY informative. Just check it out, it's won a LOT of awards.

The Pagan Circle Online Campus: This site is good if your looking to take classes online. It has a LOT of different classes and has great teachers.

The Full Moon Paradise: This site is really good also... full of information, and of course, it varies from the others. I try not to put links to sites that are all the same.

Ok, so this is the beginning. Now you may "begin your journey" to learn for spiritual reasons, "cuz it just fits", or because you're just curious. Well, hope this helped a bit!
